I spent six weeks in 2008 traveling to Chicago to be a therapist in front of the camera; this DVD is a revealing and true-to-life portrait of how I practice feminist therapy. I’m particularly pleased with how I remained faithful to my theory and its imperative to empower our clients even with this client, who rarely wanted to be empowered. It’s a good teaching video for classes on feminist therapy, and also on psychotherapy skills in general. There’s a voice-over of all six sessions so that you can hear what I was thinking about what I’m doing with this client (who is a real person, not an actor).
